jkarma closing

It breaks my heart to say this, but later this month JKarma Boutique will be closing. This store has been near and dear to my heart for years and the relationship I have built with this store, and the owner, over the last two years has been so important to me. This boutique's well edited jewelry collection and reasonable prices is what brought me back time and time again, going back to when it was Ethnics Jewelry on South Street. Philadelphia is losing a true jewelry treasure! And there will always be a place in my heart for this wonderful store that gave this budding jewelry designer a chance. J. Karma, you will be greatly missed! Take advantage of the amazing sales while you can and say a fond farewell to this magnificent store.

jkarma trunk show photos

Well, the trunk show on Friday was so much fun! JKarma was a wonderful host and I was so excited to have the chance to talk with so many people. If you missed out on the show, I still have a good selection of pieces available at JKarma Boutique.

Shoes and Booze event

Please join us tomorrow! I am so excited to be a part of this event, meet some new people, and take advantage myself of this amazing sale at JKarma. I have a feeling my credit card will be worse for wear but my accessories wardrobe will look fabulous!

JKarma trunk show

I was quite flattered to find that JKarma featured me on their blog today! Villette Jewelry will be participating in JKarma's Shoes and Booze trunk show on Friday, February 18th from 5-9pm. JKarma Boutique is located at 62 N. 3rd St., between Market and Arch St. in Philadelphia. I'll have some of my classic designs available as well as some new stuff. JKarma will be offering a ton of discounted products (we're talking shoes, purses, jewelry) AND drinks while you shop... what more could a girl ask for?!

unexpected

I have been making my watch necklaces for some time now and accumulated all of these unused watch cases. I finally had the idea to turn them into lockets! The cases looked so sad left unfilled, but I didn't want to fill them with decorative items myself; I wanted to leave it up to the owner. Instead I made little handwritten notes sealed with wax, that lets the owner know that it should be used for their most treasured possessions... ...and just in case there isn't somethng to fill the locket quite yet, I added an old vintage photo that can easily be removed...
I have always been a lover of lockets. I love the idea of carrying around with you items that signify something really important to you. There is just something special about an object that triggers a memory for the owner that is a mystery to an outside observer... a scrap of fabric from your favorite dress, a dried rose petal from the first flower you received from a boy, a folded note with words no one else will ever see... a little piece of happiness. There is just something so utterly romantic about lockets!

update on JKarma

I was very excited to see that 2 of my necklaces are listed on JKarma's website. They look all pretty in their professional photos! (This inspires me to kick my own photography up a notch.)

feeling pretty accomplished

I got a lot done this weekend (including clearing out some major clutter from my work space) and I am feeling pretty accomplished. Here's a look at what I completed for JKarma:I am kind of in love with my price tags too (the kraft paper, the typewriter prices, the baby blue thread, oh my!)...

But don't fret! If you can't make it to JKarma to pick up one of these bad boys, I am listing similar styles on my etsy site: www.villettejewelry.etsy.com.

some exciting stuff

I don't know if it is because the Christmas holiday is approaching and I need to get cracking on making my gifts or the fact that I have some serious orders to fill, but I have been a busy little bee lately and in major crafter's overload. But I have been working on some exciting stuff. Here's a sneak peek...

Supply shopping (for my necklaces, soon to be sold at JKarma):

AND creating some exciting new headband designs for etsy:

AND I am being selfish and working on some scarves for moi! Next stop... figuring out the theme for my holiday wrapping this year!

coming soon...

Coming soon to JKarma... Villette Jewelry! JKarma is an amazing accessories boutique located in Old City Philadelphia (if you don't have the pleasure of seeing the shop in person, visit them here at: http://www.jkarmaboutique.com/). I am obviously excited they will soon be carrying some of my necklaces, but the fact that this is one of my favorite jewelry stores in Philadelphia just makes this all the more sweeter. They were named Best Women's Accessories in Philadelphia Magazine's Best of Philly 2008, and there is a reason why! Stop by the shop or visit their website and check out their amazing selection.
