dainty knuckle rings

Finally was able to make a set of first knuckle rings.  I've made these dainty, super thin rings before, but they work perfectly as first knuckle rings (especially since they are super light weight... you can barely feel they are there).  These rings look beautiful in a just-a-hint-of-silver kind of way, but could also look amazing stacked in multiples.

crossover

(image above from here)
I have been seeing more of a presence of crossover rings lately.  I think these rings are going to be a significant trend soon.  The swirls of the band are beautiful and can make quite an impact.  Here are a few I love...
Talk about a presence!  The diamonds aren't very large but this ring could easily span from knuckle to knuckle.

This ring is beautiful and dainty.

Such an amazing engagement ring!  Why have one large diamond, when you can have two?!

the art of display part II

(image above from here)
I talked about artful displays in a retail setting but organizing and displaying your jewelry at home is equally important!  Here are a few beautiful ideas to showcase your jewelry at home...

Shadowboxes are a great way to show off your jewelry and save on counter space.  Adding a cute patterned paper to the background is a great way to amp up the wall decor feel.

I have been wanting to do this for some time but have never gotten around to it.  You can add as many decorative knobs as needed or add knobs as your collection grows... no longer will you need to suffer through cramming all your necklaces on the limited amount of hooks in a jewelry box!

This idea is great for organizing a large amount of jewelry in one location.  All you need is a frame (I, personally, love the more vintage decorative frames), a sheet of radiator grill, and some small S-hooks.  (You could also use a sheet of cork in lieu of the grill.)

I have many little dishes, bowls, and boxes on top of my dresser to hold various pieces of jewelry (as well as my jewelry box and a collection of perfume bottles).  I love the ceramic bust in this set-up!  (In lieu of a bust, you could also use a doll dress form!)

If I had the dresser top space, I would love to have a collection of old watchcase glass cloches in varying heights to display my favorite pieces!

the art of display

(image above from here)
I have worked for Anthropologie's display department for eight years now, so knowing the importance of great displays is pretty much engrained in me!  I love seeing artful, as well as smart, ways to display jewelry.  Here are some displays I am particularly inspired by...

I love everything about this fixture package!

I love how clean and white this gallery space is.

I love how the metal pops off of the dark charcoal.

I love when jewelry is displayed like works of art.

This massed out on a wall would be outrageous!

I love this beautiful glass box and I love the use of the scrabble tiles and holders!

I love everything about this, from the glass cloche to the bust on top of a wood slice to the white column!

color dream

Newly obsessed with this site Design Seeds!  The combination of design and color is stunning and so inspiring.  This particular image was found based on my palette search for the middle color.  This is going to be such an amazing tool when I want to repaint some rooms in my house!

stickpin conversion

Found this lovely pendant on etsy and discovered in the description that it was a stickpin converted into a pendant.  Why have I never thought of this before?!  It would be a relatively easy conversion, it's a wonderful reuse of jewelry that would likely not get used often, if at all, and from a brief online search, it seems that stickpins go for much less than a pendant does of equal size and quality!  Brilliant!
